I should send the ZRock station a thank-you note, for continuing to remind me just how little I miss Limp Bizkit and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Over and over again.
It's a public service, really, though playing better music would also be considered one.
You ever see Will Sasso's parody of Fred Durst?
ReplyDeleteAlso, a sadly overlooked band called Second Coming did a song dedicated to the concept of making Durst tap out in a UFC match (the singer apparently trained in ultimate fighting).
Never ssen either one of those, pretty excellent. I gave up on MadTV pretty early on (back around when they started beating the Ms. Swan skits into the ground), but I always thought Will Sasso should be doing more movies than Will Ferrell.
ReplyDeleteAs for Fred Durst, I'm pretty sure he asked me if I wanted fries with that a few weeks ago.
BTW, I will check out more Second Coming, I definitely like the sound. I see you've put up a few of their songs on the YouTube.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Sasso was always my favorite, with a few others on the show being pretty good. He did another funny skit as Durst, based on the premise of him being a famehound who kept stalking a Rolling Stone reporter and kissing his ass in the hope of favorable coverage.
ReplyDeleteI have never, ever understood what people like about Will Ferrell. I don't think I've laughed once at anything he's ever done.
I think Second Coming broke up recently, so as far as I know, they only put out two full-lengths, and there might have been an acoustic EP too. They were from Seattle, but more of a classic riff-oriented hard rock band.
Here's something funny about what a small world it is: I noticed a bunch of people suddenly viewing "The Song" and commenting about Chris Daughtry -- turned out he had tweeted about how much he liked the band. Guess who introduced him to their music back in '99 or so? Yup.
