"Political language -- and with variations this is true of all political parties, from Conservatives to Anarchists -- is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind."

Food for Thought
Here's an interesting little site. People eat gross shit all around the world, of course, but rarely this much of it, and all at once. There's something uniquely American about meat pizzas topped with mini tacos, potato skins, jalapeƱo poppers, and mozzarella sticks, or a hot dog wrapped in cheese, then hamburger meat, then bacon. Fun for competitive eatersgluttons of all ages.

I'm fat, but there's nothing appealing about any of this food (thank god.)
(cn i git a witness?...)
That stuff looks disgusting. I've been experimenting with taking a nice rib-eye steak and cutting it into one inch square strips and then putting them on skewers.
Then you wind thick cut hand sliced bacon around it and fasten it with toothpicks.
Then grill medium until the bacon is cooked.
serve with beer.
It's interesting how bacon has become the go-to accompaniment for so many things. I've done that grilled bacon-wrapped steak thing before too, and it's great. Also grilled bacon-wrapped shrimp, pretty much the bomb right there.
I've even seen recipes for bacon-infused vodka, whose adherents swear it's not only not as disgusting as it sounds, but done right is really very good. People who like rauchbier (smoke-flavored beer) might be into that, but it's just not my taste.
It's the two-pounds-of-woven-bacon-strips-loaf, that kinda thing, that starts pinging my wtf-meter, though one of those might be fun with enough people to share in it, at a Super Bowl party or something.
A few things on that site are actually kinda creative, and not all that overly indulgent, but some of them are just gluttonous. I love good food and drink, but four-patty burgers and deep-frying everything is just beyond me. Doesn't even sound good.
That pizza reminded me of this little hole in the wall joint I used to frequent that made some off the wall pies. They made a pizza (targeted at gamers I think)topped with crushed Doritos, Funyuns, beef jerky, and Slim Jims. I suggested they call it the Jonah, or the Wingnut Blogger, but they didn't get the reference.
The Pantload. Served only with a 2-liter bottle of Code Red Mountain Dew. Awesome.
