On the Other Hand
Previous rant aside, I am absolutely loving the MBA thing. Everything about it is all kinds of awesome -- the curriculum, the campus, the locale, the students, the library, the ginormous new rec center. Most importantly, the idea of keeping the ball rolling. I've felt for a long time that a major cause of cancer is stress, but I'm starting to believe that another one is inertia. I actually do pretty well at avoiding both in my life. It's been a pretty sparse month for posting, but it sure as hell hasn't been dull. Between work, school, family, etc., it's a blast.

Good luck in your new degree thingy, H. I'm sure you'll do great. Glad to hear that, in the middle of the depression, someone's having a ball all across the board. Sorry I haven't posted much in the way of comments, but I'm about as busy as you are. Oh, and now we're citizens of the same state, I guess -- 'cept that you're in the cooler, more manageable part of it, I suppose. Caltech is in the middle of a giant frying pan where everything is at gigantic distances from everything else. Looks as if an ancient Egyptian pharaoh had his architect design this place.
You know, I was actually born in Pasadena, so I kinda resemble that remark. (But yeah, the whole area is the textbook definition of sprawl, and they might as well build a Sphinx at the Reagan library or something.)
Good to hear that you've joined the last semi-civilized state in this here union. One of these days I'll make it downstate and we'll crash a strip joint or something.
