The Botcher Of Baghdad

These people could find a way to fuck up a shit sandwich, I swear:

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq hanged two aides to Saddam Hussein before dawn on Monday but government efforts to avoid a repeat of uproar over the ousted leader's rowdy execution were thwarted when his half-brother's head was severed by the noose.

Many of the government's Shi'ite Muslim supporters rejoiced at the death of Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti, Saddam's once feared intelligence chief who was accused of sending people to death in a meat grinder. But voices in Iraq's Sunni Arab minority saw the decapitation as a deliberate sectarian act of revenge.

On the one hand, if this douche-nozzle really did put people into a meat grinder, then fuck him. (And the article then states that is was actually the other guy whose head got ripped off. Hell, maybe both did.) But for one, we've been Curveball-ed so much on so many little details, these more lurid exploits really need some corroboration. I've also read that Uzbek warlord Rashid Dostum, a US strategic asset in Afghanistan, deals with dissent in his ranks by skinning people alive, or strapping them to tank treads and driving forward a foot at a time.

More importantly, either this Iraqi "government" wants to get things right and start getting their country back together, or they want to keep making "mistakes" and inflaming tensions.

The answer to that seems pretty clear. This is what we're supposedly going to rectify with Fredo's Big Surge.
