You're Soaking In It

The intrepid media prepare to file their next big scoop.

I'm sure you haven't heard anything about this yet, because the "legitimate" media is notoriously circumspect about such things, but there may be a break in America's coldest case.

An unidentified man was arrested in Thailand on Wednesday in connection with the 1996 murder of JonBenet Ramsey, a child beauty queen whose grisly death triggered a U.S. media frenzy, prosecutors said.

The suspect, who was not identified by authorities, "was arrested following several months of a focused and complex investigation," Boulder County District Attorney Mary Lacy said in a statement.

....

Prosecutors declined to release further details about the case or the suspect, but CNN identified him as a 41-year-old American school teacher who was visiting Thailand.

Of course, there is a name now, and supposedly he's confessed, but perhaps we should wait for maybe a day or so, let a few more facts solidify. It's not as if they've ever stepped on their collective dicks before, running after these stories.

In an age of limited time, resources, and column space for the media, it's good to see they've really kept their priorities straight. Can't wait for the next unsubstantiated political revelation that The Decider is "reading" The Foundation Trilogy or Gravity's Rainbow.
