Had Enough?

Reason #954,786,305 why these motherfuckers need to be tossed -- as far as possible.

It's bad enough that they resort to this shit, but what's worse is the fact that they wouldn't try it if they didn't think it had a chance of working. And it's really the irredeemable halfwits who it works on that the Democratic Party needs to just forget about. Why is Harold Ford suddenly trailing by 12 points, other than the old saw that, when people are given the opportunity to choose between a fake Republican and a real one, usually they vote for the real one? Because the race-baiting worked at some level.

We have to find a way to stop this, to stop stupid people, racists, gay-baiters, immigrant-bashers (except when they want cheap labor, of course), all these unapologetic douchebag closet cases from running things. It really can't go on like this much longer.

Just two more days, and we'll know whether we still have a viable political experiment to work with for the time being, or if the hypocritical chickenshit moralizers have won once again, and it's time to start figuring something else out. This doesn't mean that a Democratic landslide is the perfect solution -- indeed, it may actually cause more problems if they're not ready to hit the ground running (more on that tonight) -- but it's a start. It's a step in the right direction. When was the last time Americans were able to look each other in the eye and say such a thing with a straight face?

It ain't over till it's over, and I haven't given up yet, but I see signs like the one in the link, or read the Wolcott article, and figure that maybe Darwin was wrong after all. But I suppose the world has always been rotten with stupid, spiteful people, there's just more of them to try to work around. Regardless, at some point a serious opposition party has to revise their marketing tactics, and quit making lame, ham-fisted attempts to peel away thin demographic slices of people who are too dumb to overcome their cultural predisposition to pick their own pockets.

There's a huge pool of non-voters out there, much bigger than convincing this or that megachurch that you speak Wingnut Dog-Whistle as a second language. The party that finally brings its "A" game, and tells people what they need to hear instead of indulging their basest impulses, will motivate that chunk that has just chosen to walk away from the stupidity of it all. Clichés about "you can't complain if you don't vote" aside, you really can't blame those folks for looking at the idiots and enablers running the show, and the twisted assholes supporting them, and just throwing their hands up in frustration and saying "fuck it".

The next Retardlican that stupidly tries to conflate once again the "Democrat = terrist" bullshit needs to end up having to sweep up his rhetorical teeth. Either that, or the "box of rocks" demographic wins yet again.
